What is RF skin needling?
Fractional RF needling is a cosmetic procedure used to promote collagen and elastin in the skin. RF needling is the ideal treatment for scar revision, skin tightening and rejuvenation by utilising minimally invasive micro-needles to deliver controlled RF energy with both INSULATED and NON-INSULATED microneedles directly into various depths of the skin.
How does Fractional RF needling work?
The procedures involve tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to create a small percutaneous puncture to the skin. The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The needles stimulate a micro wound healing response throughout your skin without creating an actual wound. The healing response causes your body to release growth factors (the hormones that stimulate cell repair) as new blood vessels form and the collagen fibres begin to rebuild and regenerate themselves.
What are the benefits of Secret RF Needling?
- Improves Skin Texture
- Improves upper lip lines and skin creepiness.
- Reduces pore size
- Highly improves fine lines and wrinkles
- Improves skin thickness
- Improves scarring
- Improves Acne scarring and pitted skin
With the combination of micro needling and radio frequency, all types of scars are improved due to collagen remodelling including stretch marks and surgical scars.
Clinical studies show that microneedling RF can address the causes of aging, significantly reducing wrinkles and age spots while tightening and lifting the skin on the face and neck with minimal downtime and discomfort. RF needling is less invasive than most resurfacing treatments but is the gold standard and results show that.
How is the treatment performed?
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, and photos will be taken. A topical numbing cream will be applied, and treatment will commence roughly 15 minuets after. The depth of penetration is programmed into the device dependent on the areas we are treating and the concerns of your skin. The device tip is moved over your treated area whilst infusing a serum, causing slight erythema. A healing balm or serum will be applied immediately post treatment and we will send you home with aftercare instructions.
How many treatments will I need?
For best results we recommend 2 – 5 treatments at 4-week intervals.
What is the recovery time?
This is dependent on the intensity and depth that we treat you, on leaving the clinic you may appear red and have red squares on the treated area. You may feel a slight throb or stinging sensation (similar to a sunburn) this can last 24 hours but usually subsides within 5-6 hours. Superficial treatments will have no residual redness the next day whereas with deeper treatments used to treat scarring and deeper lines, you may appear red for 2 days. Oedema (swelling) of the skin may occur and can be minimised by keeping the area upright. This is usually more prominent on days 2-3 post-treatment. The majority of the client's downtime subsides within the same day.
